Parking

There are a couple important things to remember when you’re parking your machine. First, don’t just leave it anywhere and definitely don’t just leave it anywhere with the keys in the ignition. Straight up, quads and dirtbikes aren’t that difficult to steal. Secondly, use your common sense and be courteous to other trail users. Make sure you’re not parked in the way of other vehicles, like in the middle of a trail, at the entrance to a driveway or along the side of a highway.

HOW TO PARK YOUR MACHINE:

  • Once on flat ground, brake to bring the machine to a complete stop.
  • Put the machine in ‘neutral’ or in ‘park’, (remember: automatic = park/ manual = neutral) and engage the parking brake if equipped.
  • Shut it down – use the engine stop switch and turn off the ignition key switch.
  • Turn off the fuel supply.
  • Dismount the machine.
