BURNS

There are varying degrees of severity for burns. Your treatment options depend on whether or not the burn blisters are open or closed.

Here’s what to do if you’re dealing with a hot spot:

First-Degree & Second-Degree Burns (closed blisters): Treat closed blisters by applying a cold, wet cloth or by placing the burned skin in cold water.

Second-Degree & Third-Degree Burns (open blisters): Treat open blisters by wrapping the burned skin in clean, dry dressings or cloths. Then get the victim to the hospital immediately so they can receive professional care.
