CHECK IT YOURSELF: PUMP ACTION RIFLE
Follow these steps to properly safety check your pump action rifle:
STEP 1: Assume the rifle is loaded.
STEP 2: Turn the safety ‘ON’ and point the firearm in a safe direction.
STEP 3: Open the action by operating the action release and sliding the forestock to the rear (the action release is usually a button or a lever).
STEP 4: Visually check the chamber and magazine to make sure they don’t contain any ammunition.
STEP 5: Grasp the rifle with both hands and point the muzzle in a safe direction.
