Module 4 Summary

Operating in a safe and responsible manner is every boater’s responsibility. Always understand how to properly control your boat and are be aware of its unique handling characteristics. 

To be safe on the water, every boater should understand:

  • How to cast off and return from the dock,
  • The effects of being on the waters and how to adjust boat operations accordingly,
  • How to minimize wake and wash, and why it’s important,
  • How to anchor a boat
  • The rules and regulations for towing a waterskier, tube, wakeboarder
