Module 14 - SURVIVAL

TREATMENT FOR HEAT-RELATED ILLNESS

If someone has heat exhaustion, they’ll need to cool down immediately. So get them out of the sun, in a cool place and remove any unnecessary clothing. Have them drink buckets of water but don’t give them anything that has alcohol or caffeine in it. If the symptoms don’t subside after 30 minutes, get them to a medical professional immediately for treatment. If untreated, the heat-related illness could progress to heat stroke, which is more extreme and more dangerous.
